Bon Jovi's 1994 best-of Cross Road as a 2LP set, with "Livin' on a Prayer," "Wanted Dead or Alive," "Bed of Roses" and the then-new hit "Always."
This 2LP set spreads the hits across four sides and adds "Never Say Goodbye." Cross Road has sold over 21.5 million copies worldwide and was the UK's best-selling album of 1994.
The diner on the cover is real: the Roadside Diner in Wall Township, New Jersey, near the crossroads of Routes 33 and 34. Bon Jovi never strayed far from the Jersey Shore in spirit, and their first official greatest hits set treats a decade of arena anthems like a road trip home.
It gathers the big ones from the 1984 debut through Keep the Faith. "Runaway" is where it started, "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "Livin' on a Prayer" made Slippery When Wet a monster, "Wanted Dead or Alive" goes full cowboy, and "Bad Medicine," "Lay Your Hands on Me" and "I'll Be There for You" carry the New Jersey era. Jon Bon Jovi's solo "Blaze of Glory" turns up too, along with "Bed of Roses" and "In These Arms." Two new songs were recorded for it: "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night" and "Always," which spent six months in the US top ten and became the band's biggest-selling American single.
It topped the charts in 13 countries and became PolyGram's best-selling album of 1994. The diner, meanwhile, has had its photo taken by fans ever since, and frankly it has earned the attention.
