![Beach House: Bloom (2LP) [SUB POP]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33627157/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-beach-house-bloom-2lp-sub-pop.jpg)
2LP of Beach House's shimmering 2012 dream-pop classic Bloom: "Myth," "Wild," "Lazuli," "Other People" and "Wishes."
Bloom is Beach House at their most gorgeous and expansive: huge, glowing, slow-motion songs that debuted in the Billboard Top 10. "Myth" and "Lazuli" are two of the best dream-pop songs ever written.
Baltimore duo Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally had already made a classic with Teen Dream, and on Bloom they went bigger and brighter. Recorded at Sonic Ranch in Texas with producer Chris Coady, it layers Scally's chiming, reverb-soaked guitar and Legrand's organ and deep, smoky voice into waves of sound that build and crest over and over.
"Myth" opens the album like a sunrise, "Lazuli" sparkles, "Wild" and "Other People" have a quiet urgency, and "Wishes" and "On the Sea" are pure, aching beauty. Bloom went Top 10 in the US and remains one of the defining dream-pop albums of the 21st century.
