About the album

This collection was built by the people who knew Amy Winehouse's voice best. Producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi listened through thousands of hours of her vocals and chose the songs with her family's blessing, from sessions before Frank in 2002 up to music she was working on in 2011, and it came out in aid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

Remi produced most of it, including a lilting reggae take on "Our Day Will Come" and the original, slower "Tears Dry," a ballad long before Back to Black sped it up. Ronson brings a girl-group "Valerie" in its '68 version and a gorgeous "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" Her "Body and Soul" duet with Tony Bennett was her final studio recording, and Nas joins her on "Like Smoke."

It topped the charts in Austria, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland, and reached the top five here in Canada. The cover photo is by Bryan Adams, yes, that one, who is evidently as handy with a camera as with a chorus.
