About the album

If you watched MTV in 1993, you saw Alicia Silverstone in an Aerosmith video. Probably several times. Get a Grip was the band's commercial peak, selling over 20 million copies around the world, and its trio of big ballads were inescapable.

"Cryin'," "Crazy" and "Amazing" (with Don Henley on backing vocals) are arena-sized heartbreak at its finest, while "Livin' on the Edge" is a rousing, reflective rocker and "Eat the Rich" and the title track kick up plenty of dust. Lenny Kravitz drops by on "Line Up," and co-writers Desmond Child, Jim Vallance and Tommy Shaw help sharpen the hooks.

It was the band's last studio album on Geffen before heading back to Columbia, and it won them two Grammys. Big hair, big guitars and even bigger choruses.
