Youth of Today's 1988 third album We're Not In This Alone on coloured vinyl, a cornerstone of New York straight edge hardcore.
This Revelation pressing on coloured vinyl uses the 1996 remix by Ray Cappo and Porcell, with the original cover and insert art restored. It's the record the band made after regrouping with Walter Schreifels on bass and Sammy Siegler on drums.
Most hardcore bands that split up stay split up for a while. Youth of Today managed it in a matter of months: Ray Cappo headed to India to follow his growing interest in Hare Krishna, Porcell worked off his frustration in Project X and Judge, and then the two of them reconvened with former WarZone bassist Walter Schreifels and drummer Sammy Siegler to make this, recorded at the Chung King House of Metal in New York City.
"Flame Still Burns" announces the comeback in no uncertain terms. "No More" takes aim at the meat industry and got a low-budget video built around abattoir footage, "Live Free" began life as a Project X song, and "Understand" revisits a track the band first cut for Revelation's New York City Hardcore: The Way It Is compilation two years earlier. "Slow Down," "Put It Aside" and "Potential Friends" keep the youth crew energy high and the message positive.
In 1996 Cappo and Porcell won back the rights, took the multitrack masters and remixed the whole album, and that mix is the one on this record. A hardcore album about clean living and kindness to animals; it's practically wholesome, if you don't count the volume.
