The Wonder Years' 2011 pop punk landmark Suburbia I've Given You All and Now I'm Nothing on blue vinyl, with "Came Out Swinging" and "Local Man Ruins Everything."
This edition puts the album on blue vinyl. It was the band's third album and their first for Hopeless Records, and the middle chapter of the trilogy that runs from The Upsides to The Greatest Generation.
Most pop punk albums borrow from other pop punk albums. The Wonder Years borrowed from Allen Ginsberg: his poem America gave the record its title, five of its song titles and plenty of its spirit, and "Came Out Swinging" opens with Ginsberg himself reading it. From there Dan Campbell sings about fear, loneliness and feeling lost in the Philadelphia suburbs, with choruses built for a whole room to shout back.
Producer Steve Evetts pushed the band hard for every take, and it shows in the punch of "Local Man Ruins Everything," "Don't Let Me Cave In" and "Coffee Eyes." Dan O'Connor and Alan Day of Four Year Strong recorded their guest vocals for "Summers in PA" on the tour bus during the 2011 Kerrang! Tour, and "Woke Up Older" and "And Now I'm Nothing" bring the big, bittersweet finish. The band then took it across the US and UK and onto the Warped Tour.
The cover stars the band's mascot, Hank the Pigeon, who to our knowledge has yet to give a single interview.
