![Weyes Blood: Titanic Rising [SUB POP]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33620371/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-weyes-blood-titanic-rising-sub-pop.jpg)
Weyes Blood's acclaimed 2019 album Titanic Rising, all '70s FM radio warmth and cinematic strings: "Andromeda," "Movies," "Everyday" and "A Lot's Gonna Change."
Titanic Rising landed near the top of countless best-of-2019 lists, with critics comparing Natalie Mering to Karen Carpenter and Joni Mitchell. Its underwater cover is already iconic.
Natalie Mering, who records as Weyes Blood, made Titanic Rising with Foxygen's Jonathan Rado, and it's a gorgeous throwback to the soft-rock, orchestral pop and singer-songwriter records of the '70s, filtered through her own sharp, modern eye.
"A Lot's Gonna Change" opens with sweeping piano and strings, "Andromeda" is dreamy and slide-guitar soaked, "Everyday" is a sunny, Beach Boys-style singalong, and "Movies" builds into one of the most cinematic songs of the decade. A modern classic.
