![Weezer: Weezer (Teal Album) [CRUSH / ATLANTIC]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33620337/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-weezer-weezer-teal-album-crush-atlantic.jpg)
Weezer's 2019 Teal Album, a fun covers record: "Africa," "Everybody Wants to Rule the World," "Take On Me," "Billie Jean" and "No Scrubs."
The Teal Album grew out of Weezer's viral cover of Toto's "Africa," and it's a pure blast of fun, with Rivers Cuomo and co. tackling ten pop classics.
After fans campaigned online for Weezer to cover Toto's "Africa," the band obliged and turned it into a hit. They followed it with this surprise covers album, giving their crunchy power-pop treatment to songs from the 60s through the 90s.
"Africa" and Tears for Fears' "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" are faithful and fun, a-ha's "Take On Me" soars, and their takes on TLC's "No Scrubs," Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and ELO's "Mr. Blue Sky" are delightful.
