![Viagra Boys: Cave World [YEAR0001]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/46659345/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-viagra-boys-cave-world-year0001.jpg)
Viagra Boys' 2022 album Cave World, Swedish post-punk at its rowdiest, with "Ain't No Thief," "Troglodyte" and "Punk Rock Loser."
Cave World is Viagra Boys' sharpest, funniest record, a sax-honking post-punk romp through cavemen, conspiracy theories and modern madness.
Sebastian Murphy and his Stockholm gang have a gift for turning the absurdities of modern life into gloriously sweaty post-punk, and lockdown gave them plenty of material. Cave World takes aim at conspiracy theorists, online cranks and our shared caveman brains, and it's wickedly funny.
Recorded over the winter of 2021 and 2022, between tours for Welfare Jazz, it's loaded with sleazy grooves and honking saxophone. "Ain't No Thief" lurches like a drunken disco, "Troglodyte" and "Creepy Crawlers" sneer, "Punk Rock Loser" is a gleeful self-portrait, and "Return to Monke" closes things with a primal grin.
Critics called it a heady brew, and fans packed their shows to shout along. If your punk comes with a sense of humour, this one's for you.
