![Van Morrison: Moondance [WARNER]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33618653/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-van-morrison-moondance-warner.jpg)
Van Morrison's beloved 1970 album Moondance: "Moondance," "Crazy Love," "Caravan" and "Into the Mystic."
Moondance is Van Morrison's breakthrough and his signature album, a soulful, joyous record that appears on nearly every all-time greatest list.
After the free-flowing folk jazz of Astral Weeks, Van Morrison moved to upstate New York, wrote a set of tighter, warmer songs and produced them himself. Moondance blends rhythm and blues, soul, jazz and Irish folk into songs about love, music, nature and simple joy.
Side one is about as good as it gets: "And It Stoned Me," the swinging title track, the tender "Crazy Love," the horn-driven "Caravan" and the timeless "Into the Mystic." Side two keeps the glow going with "Come Running" and "Brand New Day."
