About the album

Tom Waits wrote Rain Dogs in New York and filled it with the city's colourful characters, mixing tango, polka, blues, country, New Orleans second-line and cabaret into a wonderfully strange and vivid world. Guitarist Marc Ribot shines throughout, and Keith Richards guests on a few songs.

"Jockey Full of Bourbon" is a slinky, smoky classic, "Time" is one of his most beautiful ballads, "Hang Down Your Head" is lovely, and "Downtown Train" became a hit for Rod Stewart. A record that rewards every listen.
