![The Offspring: Smash [EPITAPH]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33150104/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-the-offspring-smash-epitaph.jpg)
Smash, the Offspring's 1994 punk rock blockbuster: "Come Out and Play," "Self Esteem," "Gotta Get Away" and "Bad Habit."
Smash is one of the best-selling independent-label albums of all time, and it helped carry Southern California punk rock to the mainstream.
Recorded in North Hollywood with producer Thom Wilson for Brett Gurewitz's Epitaph label, Smash took the Offspring from the club circuit to arenas almost overnight. Dexter Holland's high, snarling voice and Noodles' surf-flavoured riffs are a winning mix.
"Come Out and Play" with its famous "you gotta keep 'em separated" hook was everywhere, "Self Esteem" is one of the great punk singalongs, and "Gotta Get Away" and "Bad Habit" crackle with energy. A 90s punk essential.
