About the album

The Interrupters started the old-fashioned way, in a tour van. The three Bivona brothers met singer Aimee Allen on a 2009 tour, and by 2011 Aimee and Kevin were writing songs together and had pulled in twins Jesse and Justin on drums and bass. Before their first album was even out, they were opening for Rancid and turning up in Tim Armstrong's Tim Timebomb and Friends project.

Armstrong produced this third album too, adding guitar, backing vocals and the odd handclap. "Title Holder" opens with a boxer's swagger, "She's Kerosene" is a two-tone rocket, "Gave You Everything" and "Got Each Other" lean into big, warm choruses, and "Broken World" and "Outrage" keep the punk edge sharp. Aimee's rough-edged voice sits right in the middle of it all, and the band's own handclaps are all over the record, right alongside Armstrong's.

The record put them on the cover of Kerrang! and earned a Best International Breakthrough nomination at the 2019 Kerrang! Awards. Three brothers in one band, all still on speaking terms, which in punk rock is practically a record in itself.
