Indie exclusive 45th anniversary 3LP of The Last Waltz, the Band's legendary 1976 farewell concert with Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters and Eric Clapton.
The Last Waltz, filmed by Martin Scorsese, is often called the greatest concert film ever made, and the soundtrack is just as legendary. This 45th anniversary pressing is an indie store exclusive.
On Thanksgiving Day 1976, the Band, Canada's own Robbie Robertson, Rick Danko, Richard Manuel and Garth Hudson with Arkansas' Levon Helm, said goodbye to the road with a star-studded concert at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom, filmed by Martin Scorsese.
"Up on Cripple Creek," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," "It Makes No Difference" and "The Shape I'm In" are among the Band's finest live performances, and the guests are incredible: Neil Young on "Helpless," Joni Mitchell on "Coyote," Van Morrison's "Caravan," Muddy Waters' "Mannish Boy," Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John and Eric Clapton. Plus "The Weight" with the Staple Singers.
