About the album

The Armed have always treated a band less as a lineup and more as a moving target, a Detroit collective that changes shape from record to record. Their sixth album is their most ferocious yet, a full-tilt hardcore record recorded in Detroit, Salem, Los Angeles and Tokyo, with Ben Chisholm producing alongside the band.

Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou, Queens of the Stone Age's Troy Van Leeuwen and bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen all pitch in. "Well Made Play" and "Kingbreaker" hit like a stampede, "Sharp Teeth" lives up to its name, and "Purity Drag" and "Local Millionaire" pile hooks under the noise. The singles rolled out through the summer of 2025, each with its own video, ahead of the album in August. Stereogum called it "the kind of album where you never know what kind of madness is about to materialize."

Keep listening past "A More Perfect Design": a silent locked groove leads to an untitled hidden track. Just when you think it's over, it isn't, which is a very Armed way of saying goodbye.
