Television's landmark 1977 debut Marquee Moon on ultra clear vinyl, an indie store exclusive: "Marquee Moon," "See No Evil," "Venus" and "Friction."
Marquee Moon is one of the greatest debuts in rock history, its interlocking guitars from Tom Verlaine and Richard Lloyd a towering influence on punk, post-punk and indie rock.
Rising from the same CBGB scene as Patti Smith, Ramones and Talking Heads, Television rehearsed relentlessly before recording at A&R Recording in New York, crafting taut, lyrical songs that stretch out into glorious guitar dialogues.
The ten-minute title track is a soaring masterpiece, "See No Evil" is a thrilling opener, "Venus" is dreamy and wry, "Friction" crackles, and "Elevation" and "Torn Curtain" are gorgeous.
Two guitars in conversation, neither interrupting. Rarely has politeness sounded this thrilling.
