About the album

Soundgarden had been grunge's heaviest hitters since the Sub Pop days, and on Superunknown they kept the weight but opened up the colours: psychedelia, Beatles-esque melodies, Eastern drones and odd time signatures, all anchored by Chris Cornell's astonishing four-octave voice and Kim Thayil's monster riffs.

"Black Hole Sun" is one of the most iconic songs of the decade, "Spoonman" grooves like crazy, "Fell on Black Days" and "The Day I Tried to Live" are towering, and "My Wave," "Superunknown" and "4th of July" show their full range. Essential.
