Half-speed master of the Rolling Stones' 1971 classic Sticky Fingers: "Brown Sugar," "Wild Horses," "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" and "Dead Flowers."
Sticky Fingers is the Stones at their swaggering peak, the first album on their own label and the first full studio LP with Mick Taylor. This edition was cut at half speed for extra punch and detail.
By 1971 the Rolling Stones had escaped their old Decca contract and started their own label, complete with the tongue-and-lips logo that made its debut here. Andy Warhol came up with the famous cover, a close-up of a pair of jeans with a real working zipper, and the music inside was just as cheeky.
"Brown Sugar" kicks things off with one of Keith Richards' greatest riffs, "Wild Horses" is achingly lovely, "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" stretches into a seven-minute Latin jazz jam with Mick Taylor and Bobby Keys, and "Dead Flowers" and "Moonlight Mile" show off their country and soul sides. Many fans would call it the best Stones album of all, and this half-speed master gives it room to breathe.
