![The Rolling Stones: Exile on Main St. (2LP, Half-Speed Remaster) [ROLLING STONES]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33149757/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-the-rolling-stones-exile-on-main-st-2lp.jpg)
Rolling Stones' sprawling 1972 double album Exile on Main St. on 2LP, half-speed remastered: "Tumbling Dice," "Happy," "Rocks Off," "Sweet Virginia" and "Shine a Light."
Exile on Main St. is often called the Rolling Stones' greatest album, a loose, gritty, glorious blend of rock 'n' roll, blues, country, soul and gospel.
Recorded largely in the basement of Keith Richards's rented villa in the south of France, Exile captures the Stones at their most raw and soulful, with Mick Taylor's slide guitar, Nicky Hopkins's piano and Bobby Keys's sax all over the mix.
"Rocks Off" and "Rip This Joint" are rollicking, "Tumbling Dice" is one of their best grooves, "Happy" is Keith's signature song, "Sweet Virginia" is a ragged singalong, and "Shine a Light" and "Let It Loose" are gorgeous gospel-soul.
