25th anniversary 2LP of Californication on red and ocean blue vinyl: "Scar Tissue," "Otherside," "Around the World" and the title track.
Californication is the Chili Peppers' best-selling studio album, with more than 17 million copies sold. It marked John Frusciante's triumphant return, and "Scar Tissue" won a Grammy.
When John Frusciante rejoined the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1998, the band found a whole new gear. Californication trades some of the old funk-punk mayhem for melody, space and genuine soul, with Frusciante's beautifully economical guitar and backing vocals all over it and Rick Rubin keeping everything clean and punchy.
The hits just keep coming: "Scar Tissue," "Otherside," "Around the World," "Parallel Universe" and the sun-bleached title track, with "Road Trippin'" closing things out on a gorgeous acoustic note. This anniversary pressing spreads it over one red and one ocean blue LP.
