Queen's 1989 album The Miracle, half-speed mastered on 180g vinyl: "I Want It All," "Breakthru," "The Invisible Man" and "Scandal."
This edition is half-speed mastered on 180g vinyl, with a printed inner sleeve carrying a group portrait and lyrics. The Miracle went to No. 1 in the UK, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
The Miracle is the sound of four people deciding to share everything. Recording started in January 1988 and ran for a full year, and for the first time Queen credited every song to the whole band. It was nearly called The Invisible Men until a late change three weeks before it came out, and it was the last Queen album with all four members on the front cover.
"Party" grew out of a jam between Freddie Mercury, Brian May and John Deacon and slides straight into "Khashoggi's Ship." The title track, built on chords Mercury and Deacon worked out together, is one of May's own favourites. "I Want It All" grew from a favourite motto of May's wife, Anita Dobson, and is the one time Roger Taylor played double-kick drums. "The Invisible Man" name-checks every member, and "Breakthru" welds two songs into one runaway train. David Richards co-produced with the band.
AllMusic later named it, with The Game, Queen's best album of the 1980s. Taylor wrote part of "The Invisible Man" in the bath, which may make it the most productive soak in rock history.
