About the album

The cover tells you a lot. Jarvis Cocker took the photo himself on a walk in Iceland with his son in July 2024, and designer Julian House dropped in cardboard cut-outs of the band from the Different Class sleeve. It's Pulp, back in a wide-open landscape, older and perfectly at ease.

Cocker, Candida Doyle, Nick Banks and Mark Webber made More with producer James Ford, joined by touring players Andrew McKinney, Emma Smith and Adam Betts, and late bassist Steve Mackey is credited as a co-writer on two songs. "Spike Island" kicked things off, topping the UK Physical Singles chart and becoming the first Pulp song ever to land on an American radio chart. "Got to Have Love" arrived with a video built around footage from the Wigan Casino documentary, and "Tina," "Grown Ups" and "A Sunset" show Cocker still writing sharply about love and getting older.

AllMusic's Heather Phares said the band bridge the gap back to their Britpop years "with integrity," and the Here Comes More Tour was their biggest since the '90s. Twenty-four years between albums sounds like a long time, but we've had customers take longer to return a library book.
