About the album

Six years is a long time between solo records, but Phoebe Bridgers wasn't exactly idle in the meantime: there was the Saddest Factory label, a three-Grammy run with boygenius and more guest spots than anyone could reasonably count. Lost Weekend is the sound of her circling back home to the hushed, devastating indie-folk she does better than just about anybody, only now with a little more electronic shimmer and ambient haze drifting around the edges.

Much of it is built around grief (her father died in 2022) and around love, with her relationship with Bo Burnham threading through the songs and the strange side effects of fame never far away. Tony Berg and Ethan Gruska are back behind the board, and the guest list reads like a who's who of her world: Jack Antonoff, Alex G, Cameron Winter, Maya Hawke, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. Still, it's Bridgers' voice, close-miked and unflinching, that does the heavy lifting. Bring tissues.
