![Parquet Courts: Wide Awake! [ROUGH TRADE]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33628517/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-parquet-courts-wide-awake-rough-trade.jpg)
Parquet Courts' funky, fired-up 2018 album Wide Awake!, produced by Danger Mouse: "Wide Awake," "Total Football," "Mardi Gras Beads" and "Almost Had to Start a Fight."
Wide Awake! is Parquet Courts' most fun and danceable record, a punky, joyful blast of social conscience with grooves to match.
Teaming with Danger Mouse, the Brooklyn band added funk, dub, cowbell and handclaps to their wiry post-punk, with Andrew Savage and Austin Brown trading sharp, witty, impassioned lyrics.
The title track is a whistle-blowing, cowbell-banging party, "Total Football" is a rousing call for teamwork, "Mardi Gras Beads" is tender, and "Almost Had to Start a Fight / In and Out of Patience" is a frantic two-in-one thrill.
