Ozzy Osbourne's solo best-of Memoirs of a Madman as a 2LP set, 17 tracks from "Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley" to "No More Tears" and a live "Paranoid."
This 2LP set gathers 17 solo singles across four sides, from Blizzard of Ozz to Scream, and adds a previously unissued live "Paranoid" from London's Roundhouse in 2010. It went Gold in the UK and reached No. 3 on the UK Rock & Metal chart.
After Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne built a solo career that many bands would settle for as their whole story. Memoirs of a Madman follows it from 1980 to 2010, a run that took in three of the great metal guitarists, Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee and Zakk Wylde, and a stack of platinum records.
"Crazy Train" and "Mr. Crowley" come from the 1980 debut Blizzard of Ozz, with "Flying High Again" and "Over the Mountain" from Diary of a Madman. "Bark at the Moon" and "The Ultimate Sin" carry the Jake E. Lee era, "Miracle Man," "No More Tears," "Mama, I'm Coming Home" and "Road to Nowhere" the Zakk Wylde years, and "Perry Mason," "Gets Me Through," "Changes" with Kelly Osbourne and "Let Me Hear You Scream" bring it up to date.
The collection first came out in 2014 as a CD with a two-disc DVD of videos and performances. It's a career told by a man who spent five decades as metal's most lovable madman, and nobody has yet managed to sit still through "Crazy Train," ourselves included.
