Our Lady Peace's career collection Collected 1994-2022 as a 2LP set, from "Starseed" and "Clumsy" to "Somewhere Out There" and "Innocent."
This 2LP set comes in a die-cut sleeve and runs 20 songs across almost three decades. It gathers the Toronto band's big radio hits, from "Starseed" and "Superman's Dead" to "Somewhere Out There," with two live tracks to finish.
Few Canadian rock bands owned the late 90s quite like this one. Raine Maida, Mike Turner and company came out of Toronto with Naveed in 1994, and Maida's soaring, unmistakable voice was all over the country's radio for the next decade.
Side one opens with that debut, "Starseed" and "Naveed," then rolls straight into the Clumsy era: "Superman's Dead," "Clumsy" and "4 A.M." The Happiness and Spiritual Machines years bring "Thief," "One Man Army" and "Is Anybody Home?," and the 2000s add "Somewhere Out There" and "Innocent." A live "Julia" with Sarah Slean and a live take on the Beatles' "Tomorrow Never Knows" close it out. It's a handy way to hear how the band grew from the moody alt-rock of the 90s into the bigger, brighter sound of their later records, all in one sitting.
Later songs like "Drop Me In The Water" and "Stop Making Stupid People Famous" show the band still pushing almost thirty years in. Our advice is to put on side one, turn it up and accept that you will be singing along in the car for the rest of the week.
