About the album

Five years after A Moment Apart, Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight came back with a record about where they come from. They said the album grew from thinking about how family and friends imprint themselves on us and stay with us, and they launched it by letting fans unlock audio snippets and old home-video footage from their childhoods on a password-protected website.

The guest list is warm and wide: Julianna Barwick, Charlie Houston, Izzy Bizu, MARO, Låpsley and Ólafur Arnalds all lend voices or production. The title track flips Bettye LaVette's "Let Me Down Easy" into a soaring, soulful centrepiece, "Love Letter" with The Knocks bounces, "Behind the Sun" builds on a sample of Iranian singer Simin Ghanem, and "North Garden" borrows from Glen Campbell's "Wichita Lineman." "Light of Day," produced with Arnalds, closes things in a slow, glowing swell.

AllMusic called the songs bigger and more anthemic than before, and Clash praised it as a cinematic body of work. Sharing your childhood home movies with the whole internet is a bold promotional idea, and one we'd ask our own families very kindly not to copy.
