With Definitely Maybe, Oasis were the most exciting new band in Britain; with (What's the Story) Morning Glory? they became the biggest band in the world. Noel Gallagher swapped some of the debut's raw roar for huge choruses, strings and ballads, Alan White came in on drums, and the result was a record that seemed to be playing out of every window in 1995.
