About the album

NxWorries is pronounced "no worries," and that easy confidence runs right through the record. Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge first put the name on "Suede" in February 2015, a lazy, sly groove built on a Gil Scott-Heron sample, and the duo spent the next year and a half on tour with Earl Sweatshirt and polishing a whole album's worth of material. Their Link Up & Suede EP on Stones Throw whetted appetites in December 2015.

Knxwledge produced everything, chopping dusty soul loops, and .Paak raps and sings over them with a grin you can hear. "Lyk Dis" was the lead single, "Link Up" premiered on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show and got a video with cameos from Eric Andre and Earl Sweatshirt, and "Get Bigger / Do U Luv" and "Scared Money" show off the duo's chemistry. "Khadijah," "Starlite" and "Sidepiece" keep the late-night mood rolling across all four sides.

The pair came back with Why Lawd? in 2024. Yes Lawd! itself arrived a week ahead of schedule, which in the record business is about as common as a bus turning up early.
