NOFX's 2004 best-of The Greatest Songs Ever Written (By Us) as a 2LP set: "Linoleum," "Bob," "Don't Call Me White" and two new tracks.
This 2LP set gathers 27 Fat Mike songs, cleaned up and restored, with a few remixed for the occasion. It spans the catalogue from Liberal Animation to The War on Errorism and adds "Murder the Government" and "Wore Out the Soles of My Party Boots."
Most punk bands would struggle to agree on a running order for a best-of. NOFX simply let Fat Mike pick from his own catalogue, which is fair, since he wrote every song on it. Producer Ryan Greene, who recorded a good chunk of the originals, is all over the credits.
Punk in Drublic supplies "Linoleum," "Leave It Alone," "Reeko" and "Don't Call Me White," White Trash, Two Heebs and a Bean brings "Bob" and "Stickin' in My Eye," and Heavy Petting Zoo adds "Bleeding Heart Disease" and "What's the Matter with Kids Today." "Dinosaurs Will Die" and "Bottles to the Ground" come from Pump Up the Valuum, "Green Corn" goes back to Ribbed, and "The Longest Line" comes from the EP of the same name. El Hefe's trumpet and guitar, Eric Melvin's backing yells and Erik Sandin's drumming keep the whole thing at full tilt.
This repress came off the presses at Precision Record Pressing, just down the road in Burlington, Ontario. The title is a bold claim, though to be fair the label does add "By Us."
