![Mr. Bungle: California (2LP, Indie Exclusive, Translucent Ruby Vinyl) [WARNER / RHINO]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/73197631/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-mr-bungle-california-2lp-indie-exclusive.jpg)
Mr. Bungle's genre-hopping 1999 masterpiece California on 2LP: "Retrovertigo," "Pink Cigarette" and "None of Them Knew They Were Robots." Indie store exclusive on translucent ruby vinyl.
California is Mike Patton and Mr. Bungle's most melodic and accessible album, a cult classic that blends surf, lounge, exotica, 50s pop and metal like nothing else.
Mike Patton, Trey Spruance and Trevor Dunn's Mr. Bungle crafted California as a sun-drenched, cinematic tour of styles: Beach Boys harmonies, surf guitar, exotica, Middle Eastern melodies, crooner balladry and sudden bursts of heaviness, all stitched together with astonishing skill.
"Retrovertigo" is a gorgeous, sweeping ballad, "Pink Cigarette" is a dreamy doo-wop croon, "None of Them Knew They Were Robots" whips through genres at breakneck speed, and "Sweet Charity" opens like a lost lounge classic.
