About the album

Some debuts announce themselves loudly. Feel Something does it by leaning in close. The California four-piece of Patrick Miranda, Ira George, Austin Cressey and Spencer York wrote an album about anxiety, family and holding on, and Patrick Miranda delivers it in a voice that swings from half-spoken confession to full-throated shout.

Producer Will Yip, the go-to name for modern emo and post-hardcore, gives the songs room to breathe. "Full Circle" opens with a slow build, "Colorblind" and "Third Degree" bounce on big, melodic choruses, and "Daylily" is the gentle, swaying centrepiece that won the band a whole new audience. "Deep Red" and "The Grey" bring the record home with real weight.

It turned Movements into a fixture on emo tour bills. We'd say keep the tissues handy, but you'll be too busy singing along to need them.
