Mort Garson's 1976 cult classic Mother Earth's Plantasia, "warm earth music for plants and the people who love them." 50th anniversary edition on multicolour ecomix vinyl.
Plantasia went from a rare giveaway record to one of the most beloved cult albums of the internet age, a charming early-synthesizer gem that sounds as fresh as a new leaf.
In 1976, synth pioneer Mort Garson composed an album of gentle, melodic Moog music meant for houseplants to enjoy as much as people. Originally given away with purchases at a Los Angeles plant shop and with Simmons mattresses, it became a treasured collector's item.
"Plantasia" is bright and cheerful, "Symphony for a Spider Plant" and "Concerto for Philodendron & Pothos" are playful and lovely, and "Swingin' Spathiphyllums" lives up to its name. Happy music for happy plants. Each ecomix copy is unique.
