![Mazzy Star: Among My Swan [CAPITOL / HIP-O]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/71402260/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-mazzy-star-among-my-swan-capitol-hip-o.jpg)
Mazzy Star's dreamy 1996 third album: "Flowers in December," "Disappear," "I've Been Let Down" and "Look on Down from the Bridge."
Among My Swan gave Mazzy Star their biggest UK hit with "Flowers in December," and it's the most intimate record Hope Sandoval and David Roback ever made together.
After the slow-burn success of "Fade Into You," Hope Sandoval and David Roback went quieter and closer for their third album. There's less reverb and more air here, with acoustic guitars, harmonica, slide and Sandoval's hushed, half-whispered voice right up front.
"Flowers in December" is achingly pretty, "Disappear" and "Roseblood" drift like late-afternoon sunlight, and "Look on Down from the Bridge" ranks with the most beautiful things they ever recorded. Put it on late at night and let it take you somewhere.
