About the album

Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman met at a birthday party in a Toronto bar, started making music in Jordan's University of Toronto dorm that same week, and put their first song online in a single day. Noah "40" Shebib heard their early work and signed them to OVO Sound, and by 2013 they were co-writing and singing on Drake's "Hold On, We're Going Home."

Their full-length debut is a warm, late-night mix of R&B, house and synth-pop, produced mostly by the duo themselves with 40, Illangelo and Nineteen85 lending a hand. "My Love" is the slinky lead single with Drake, the album's one guest, "Something About You" glides along with Snoh Aalegra's background vocals, and "Learn From Each Other" and "Make It Work" ride smooth, clubby grooves. "Every Step Every Way" brings the tempo up, and "King City" nods to the town just up the road from us.

Exclaim! gave it 9 out of 10, and it still sounds like a Toronto summer night with the windows down. It also makes a strong case for being nice to strangers at birthday parties.
