![Leon Bridges: Good Thing [COLUMBIA]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33149138/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-leon-bridges-good-thing-columbia.jpg)
Leon Bridges' smooth 2018 second album Good Thing, stretching from retro soul into modern R&B and funk: "Bad Bad News," "Beyond" and "If It Feels Good (Then It Must Be)."
Good Thing shows the Fort Worth singer growing beyond his vintage-soul debut into silky R&B, funk and jazz, with "Bad Bad News" earning him a Grammy.
Made with Ricky Reed and other collaborators, Good Thing keeps Bridges' honeyed, gentle voice at the centre while trading the 60s templates of Coming Home for slinky grooves, falsetto and lush, modern production.
"Bad Bad News" is a jazzy, bass-walking strut, "Beyond" is a tender acoustic love song, "If It Feels Good (Then It Must Be)" is pure disco-funk, and "Bet Ain't Worth the Hand" is a slow-burn beauty.
