Le Tigre: Le Tigre [WIIIJA]

Why you'll love it

Le Tigre's debut fused feminist punk energy with sampler-driven dance pop, and "Deceptacon" and "Hot Topic" remain total dance-floor fillers.

About the album

After Bikini Kill, Kathleen Hanna teamed up with Johanna Fateman and artist Sadie Benning to form Le Tigre, swapping guitars for drum machines, samplers and cut-and-paste hooks. The result is fun, sharp, danceable and political all at once.

"Deceptacon" is one of the great dance-punk anthems, "Hot Topic" is a joyous roll call of feminist artists and heroes, and "My My Metrocard" and "What's Yr Take on Cassavetes" are smart, witty and catchy as anything.
