![Kings of Leon: Only by the Night (2LP) [RCA]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33619910/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-kings-of-leon-only-by-the-night-2lp-rca.jpg)
2LP of Kings of Leon's 2008 breakthrough Only by the Night: "Sex on Fire," "Use Somebody," "Closer" and "Revelry."
Only by the Night made Kings of Leon one of the biggest rock bands in the world, and "Use Somebody" won three Grammys including Record of the Year.
The three Followill brothers and their cousin started out as scrappy Southern garage rockers, but on their fourth album they went widescreen. Recorded in Nashville with Jacquire King and Angelo Petraglia, Only by the Night swaps grit for soaring, U2-sized guitars and Caleb Followill's raspy, yearning howl.
"Sex on Fire" was their first UK No. 1, "Use Somebody" became an anthem the world over, "Closer" and "Crawl" are moody and muscular, and "Revelry" and "Manhattan" show off their softer side.
