About the album

Fighting Demons was put together by Grade A Productions with Juice WRLD's mother, Carmela Wallace, and it plays like a portrait as much as an album. It arrived alongside the HBO documentary Juice WRLD: Into the Abyss, and Chicago marked the occasion with Juice WRLD Day at the United Center, where friends including Trippie Redd, Ski Mask the Slump God and 24kGoldn performed.

The guest spots are few and well chosen: Justin Bieber on "Wandered to LA," Polo G and Trippie Redd elsewhere, and Suga of BTS on "Girl of My Dreams." Spoken interludes like "Juice WRLD Speaks" and "Eminem Speaks" thread through the sequence, while "Burn," "Already Dead" and "Feline" show off his melodic, emo-tinged flow. Variety singled out the Bieber and Suga verses, and NME said it showed a side of him that hadn't been explored before.

Rolling Stone called it a grateful memento from a hugely talented artist, and it sits with Legends Never Die at the heart of his catalogue. Bieber flies the Canadian flag on "Wandered to LA," so we've filed it under local content, as we're more or less obliged to.
