About the album

Recording in Ibiza for tax reasons sounds like a holiday, and the results suggest Judas Priest did not treat it as one. After the sleeker Point of Entry, Rob Halford, K.K. Downing, Glenn Tipton, Ian Hill and Dave Holland went back to a harder, heavier sound, with Tom Allom producing and the mix finished in Florida.

"The Hellion" fanfare crashes into "Electric Eye," one of the great one-two openings in metal, then "Riding On The Wind" and "Bloodstone" keep the throttle down. The title track is a high-speed scream-along, and "Devil's Child" closes things with a strut.

"You've Got Another Thing Coming" was a late addition, finished during the mixing sessions, and Halford admitted he had no idea it would take off. It became their signature song, which is a fine argument for staying a little longer at the studio.
