About the album

Johnny Cash had dreamed of recording a concert in a prison ever since "Folsom Prison Blues," and in January 1968 he finally did it, with June Carter, the Tennessee Three, Carl Perkins and the Statler Brothers all on the bill. The energy in the room is electric.

"Folsom Prison Blues" opens with Cash's famous "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash," "Jackson" with June Carter crackles, "Cocaine Blues" and "25 Minutes to Go" are full of dark humour, and "Greystone Chapel," written by Folsom inmate Glen Sherley, is a moving finale. This deluxe edition gives you even more of the show.
