![Kacey Musgraves: Golden Hour [MCA NASHVILLE]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33620870/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-kacey-musgraves-golden-hour-mca-nashvill.jpg)
Kacey Musgraves' 2018 Album of the Year winner Golden Hour: "Slow Burn," "Space Cowboy," "Butterflies," "High Horse" and "Rainbow."
Golden Hour won all four Grammys it was nominated for, including Album of the Year, plus Album of the Year at the CMA Awards. It's country-pop with disco sparkle and a big, open heart.
Kacey Musgraves had already made two sharp, witty country records, but Golden Hour, written after she fell in love and got married, is something special: dreamy, warm and full of light. Working with Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, she mixed pedal steel and banjo with vocoders, disco beats and soft-rock shimmer, and somehow it all sounds like a sunset.
"Slow Burn" and "Butterflies" are gorgeous, "Space Cowboy" is a perfectly turned breakup song, "High Horse" is a full-on disco strut, and "Rainbow" closes things with a hug. It won all four Grammys it was up for, including Album of the Year, and won over plenty of people who swore they didn't like country.
