About the album

John Mayer headed for the wide-open spaces of Montana and the sound of '70s Laurel Canyon on his fifth album, made with producer Don Was. Acoustic guitars, pedal steel, harmonica and gorgeous harmonies replace the slick blues-pop of his earlier records.

"Queen of California" is sunny and breezy, "Shadow Days" is a heartfelt fan favourite, "Something Like Olivia" swings, and the title track features David Crosby and Graham Nash. A record for long drives and lazy Sundays.
