![Hozier: Wasteland, Baby! (2LP, special edition, 180g) [RUBYWORKS / COLUMBIA / LEGACY]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/64432243/1652x1652x2/hozier-wasteland-baby-2lp-special-edition-180g-rub.jpg)
Special edition 2LP of Hozier's 2019 album Wasteland, Baby! on 180g vinyl, with five bonus tracks: "Nina Cried Power," "Movement," "Almost (Sweet Music)" and "Shrike."
Wasteland, Baby! debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and in Ireland. "Nina Cried Power," with Mavis Staples and Booker T. Jones, made Barack Obama's list of his favourite songs of 2018.
Andrew Hozier-Byrne took his time following up "Take Me to Church," and Wasteland, Baby! was worth the wait: a soulful, gospel-tinged rock record about love, protest and holding on to hope, sung in that huge, honey-and-gravel voice.
"Nina Cried Power" is a stirring tribute to the protest songs of Nina Simone, Mavis Staples and Curtis Mayfield, with Staples and Booker T. Jones joining in, "Movement" and "Almost (Sweet Music)" are gorgeous, and "Shrike" is a delicate folk ballad. This special edition adds five bonus tracks, including a live "Shrike" from Windmill Lane Studios and an acoustic "Be."
