About the album

After the master tapes for their planned album went missing, Green Day started over and aimed higher: a full-blown punk rock opera following the Jesus of Suburbia through a mixed-up, media-soaked America. It made them bigger than ever, a decade after Dookie.

The title track and "Holiday" are blistering, "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is a stadium singalong, "Wake Me Up When September Ends" is Billie Joe Armstrong at his most heartfelt, and the nine-minute suites "Jesus of Suburbia" and "Homecoming" are mini rock operas in their own right.
