![Grateful Dead: American Beauty [WARNER / RHINO]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/33618509/1652x1652x2/new-vinyl-grateful-dead-american-beauty-warner-rhi.jpg)
Grateful Dead's 1970 masterpiece American Beauty: "Box of Rain," "Friend of the Devil," "Sugar Magnolia," "Ripple" and "Truckin'."
American Beauty is the Grateful Dead's most beloved studio album and a cornerstone of American roots rock. It appears on countless greatest-albums lists.
Following the folk-and-country turn of Workingman's Dead, the Grateful Dead went even further on American Beauty: gorgeous Crosby, Stills & Nash-style harmonies, acoustic guitars, mandolin and some of the finest songs Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter ever wrote.
Phil Lesh's "Box of Rain" opens with warmth, "Friend of the Devil" and "Ripple" are campfire classics, "Sugar Magnolia" is pure joy, and "Truckin'" became the band's signature anthem. A record for sunny afternoons and long drives.
