Godspeed You! Black Emperor's 2024 album No Title as of 13 February 2024 28,340 Dead on 2LP 180g vinyl, from the Montreal post-rock collective.
The eighth album from Montreal's post-rock pioneers is powerful, patient and beautifully built, with "Grey Rubble - Green Shoots" among their most moving pieces.
Following G_d's Pee at State's End!, the collective once again builds long, slowly gathering suites of guitars, strings, drones and pounding drums that rise from quiet tension into towering, cathartic crescendos.
"Sun Is a Hole Sun Is Vapors" opens in a hum of static and searching melody, "Babys in a Thundercloud" and "Broken Spires at Dead Kapital" surge and swell, and "Grey Rubble - Green Shoots" closes with fragile, glowing hope.
