![Glass Beams: Mahal [NINJA TUNE]](https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/621399/files/64905586/1652x1652x2/glass-beams-mahal-ninja-tune.jpg)
Glass Beams' 2024 EP Mahal, mesmerising psychedelic grooves from the masked Melbourne trio: "Mahal," "Orb," "Horizon" and "Snake Oil."
Glass Beams blend Indian classical influences with Aussie surf rock and funk, and Mahal is a hypnotic, irresistible introduction to their spellbinding sound.
Founded in Melbourne by multi-instrumentalist and producer Rajan Silva, Glass Beams perform in bejewelled masks and make instrumental music steeped in his Indian heritage, mixing sitar-like melodies and rolling percussion with twangy surf guitar and deep grooves.
The title track's memorable guitar line is instantly hooky, "Orb" evolves into a propulsive, funky rhythm, and "Horizon," "Snake Oil" and "Black Sand" are textured, experimental and hypnotic. Their following keeps growing fast.
