About the album

After the global megastardom of Faith, George Michael stepped out of the spotlight and made a warmer, more reflective record, refusing to appear in his own videos so the music could speak for itself. It blends soul, pop, folk and gentle jazz with some of his finest songwriting and singing.

"Freedom! '90" is a joyous, gospel-flavoured declaration, "Praying for Time" is a soaring ballad that topped the US charts, "Cowboys and Angels" is a lush jazz waltz, and his cover of Stevie Wonder's "They Won't Go When I Go" is stunning.
