About the album

FKA twigs coined a word for this album: Eusexua, the feeling of being so present in your body that thinking switches off. She found it at underground raves in Prague in the summer of 2022, and the record chases that state from start to finish, trading the stark ballads of Magdalene for strobes, sweat and euphoria.

Her longtime collaborator Koreless shaped much of it, with Stuart Price, Eartheater, Stargate, Jeff Bhasker and Sasha among the producers. The title track glows like a slow sunrise, "Perfect Stranger" is a pure pop rush, "Drums Of Death" (featuring Koreless) pounds, and "Sticky" earned comparisons to Björk and Kate Bush. On "Childlike Things" North West raps in English and Japanese, which is an entrance few guests can match. "Keep It, Hold It" and "24hr Dog" keep the club lights on, and "Wanderlust" closes things in a warm, hazy afterglow.

Pitchfork gave it 9.1 and compared it to Ray of Light; the Mercury Prize shortlisted it. It's the most direct record twigs has made, and the most fun, though we can't promise the Prague clubs are included.
